Ce bâtiment communal est un ancien marché couvert construit à partir d'éléments du cloitre de l'abbaye royale. Il a ensuite été transformé en salle des fêtes.
This building of the commune is an ancient indoor market, built with bits and pieces of the royale abbey's cloister. Afterwards, it has been transformed in a room where people can have parties.

Autrefois, l'abbaye Saint Jean-Baptiste était le monument le plus important de la ville. Les différentes parties de l'abbaye ont été détruites et reconstruites plusieurs fois depuis le Moyen-âge. Au 18ème siècle, la reconstruction des Tours, qui s'élèvent en avant de l'église, avorta : la révolution arrêta toute tentative de restauration de la splendeur monastique.
In the past, the Abbey of St John the Baptist was the most important building in the town. The various parts of the abbey have been destroyed and rebuilt several times since the Middle Ages. In the 18th century, a rebuilding of Towers standing in front of the church was abandoned : French Revolution stopped any attempt of restoring the splendour of a monastery.
